Stayed at a place last week that had one of those adjustable beds with the remote. I weigh about 280 and honestly the thing felt surprisingly solid in zero-g mode. But I wasn't sure if it was actually better for my back or just the novelty. Anyone else tried one? Curious if it's worth looking into for home.

Anyone tried sleeping on an adjustable bed in a hotel?
I've tried one at a Hilton. It was fine but the remote was confusing and I accidentally raised my feet at 3am.
I'm around 300 and slept on an adjustable in a hotel in Atlanta last month. The base felt fine. The mattress itself was the weak link, though. It was one of those thin foam jobs that kind of bottomed out when I sat up tbh.
Sounds like a gimmick to me. If you want a heavy-duty adjustable base go to a sore and lie on one for 20 minutes. A hotel stay isn't a real test.
Fair, but hotel is zero commitment. You don't want to drop 2k and find out you hate the joint.
OP, which hotel chain? That matters. Some of the adjustable beds in hotels are real cheap frames with a mattress that's seen better days.
It was a Marriott. The frame seemed decent but I see what you mean about the mattress.
Not a heavy sleeper but my ex was 290 and we had an adjustable. The base held up. The issue was the mattress edges collapsing when he sat on the side. So if you go that route, pair it with a high-density foam or a firm hybrid.
I second the hybrid thing. I'm 270 and sleep on an adjustable with a firm hybrid. The adjustable base itself is rated for like 700 lbs or something so weight wasn't an issue.
Wait, were you in zero-g the whole night? I tried that and woke up sliding toward the headboard.
Haha yeah zero-g all night. Didn't slide much but I'm a pretty still sleeper.
Still think it's mostly a novelty. But if it helps you get out of bed in the morning, whatever works.
