I want reviews from people who weigh roughly the same as me

I'm 6'2" and around 280lbs. Every mattress review I read is from some 140lb person who sleeps on their back and says it's 'supportive.' That tells me nothing. I need real feedback from people in the 260-300lb range. Specifically looking for something that won't sag after a year. Budget is flexible but I'm not dropping 4k on a mattress unless it's actually proven. What are you heavier folks sleeping on, and how's it holding up?

285lbs here. I've had a Titan Luxe for about 14 months. It's holding holding up better than anything I've tried, but it's firm. Like, sleep-on-your-side-and-your-shoulder-remembers-it firm. If you're a side sleeper, maybe look at their medium version. Also their customer service is hit or miss.

Following. I'm 270 and currently on a 5-year-old Leesa that has a visible body impression. I feel like I'm slEeping in a hammock.

290 here. I went with a DIY latex build from Arizona Premium Mattress. Three layers of Dunlop, firm under my hips, medium unde shoulders. It's been 2 years and zero sag. Cost me about $1200. It's not for everyone but if you're willing to do a little research it's the best Value for heavy folks.

I'm 310 and I've given up on foam. Went back to a traditional innerspring with a pillow top. Way less sag but it sleeps hot as hell. Trade-offs.

GravyBoatJenkins what firmness layers did you go with exactly? I'm curious about latex but worried it'll feel like a rock.

GravyBoatJenkins

BrickHouseResident I did their 3" firm base, 3" medium middle, 2" soft top. The soft top is only 2 inches so you don't sink through it. Honestly it's more supportive than plush but it's not a brick. They'll send samples too.

I'm 265 and I've been on a Saatva Classic firm for three years. No sagging yet. But I'm a back sleeper and I dont move much. YMMV.

Just get a Sleep Number and adjust it until your spine stops complaining. I'm 275 and my i8 has been fine for 4 years. The air chambers don't sag like foam.

BrickHouseResident

tofu_tornado I had a Sleep Number years ago and the pump died after 18 months. Maybe I got a lemon but it left a bad taste.

The The hammock comment is too real. I'm saving this thread.

Also, whatever you get, put a solid foundation under it. A lot of the sag complaints from heavy people are really box spring failures. I built a slatted bed frame with 2x4s and it made a difference.

I second the foundation thing. My old mattress wasn't dead, the cheap box spring was.

The DIY latex thing is intriguing. I've never heard of Arizona Premium. I'll look them up. Has anyone tried the Big Fig? Their marketing is aimed at bigger people but but I've seen mixed reviews about it being too firm.

BrickHouseResident

Big Fig felt like sleeping on a wrestling mat to me. If you like fkrm, fine, but don't expect any cushion.

ChonkMasterFlex

My sister is a big girl and she loves hed Big Fig. She's a stomach sleeper though. I think it depends on position more than weight sometimes.

GravyBoatJenkins

Arizona Premium has a good return policy too.You can swap layers. It's not the easiest process but it's worth it if you don't want to gamble on a new mattress every two years.
