Latex Beds

Has anyone around 250 lbs switched to latex for less heat?

I'm about 250 and currently on a 3-year-old memory foam mattress. It sleeps hot to the point where I wake up sweaty even with a cooling pad. I've read latex sleeps cooler, but I'm worried it won't support my weight or will feel like a brick. Has anyone around my size actually made the switch? Did it help with heat?

I'm 240ish and went from memory foam to a Dunlop latex latex hybrid last year. Heat difference was noticeable within a week — no more waking up in a puddle. But pure latex might feel firmer than you expect. I'd go hybrid if you want some give.

Following. Same weight, same sweaty problem. My concern is the latex being too bouncy and waking up my wife every time I roll over.

My partner is ~260 and we have a Talalay latex mattress. He runs hot aand says it's way better than the old foam. He does sink a little more than me, but no complaints about support. We did get a medium-firm, not extra firm.

The bounce is real though. If your wife is a light sleeper, maybe consider a latex hybrid with pocket coils. Ours has a little motion transfer but not terrible.

Thanks — hybrid sounds like a safer bet. Did either of you notice a break-in period where it felt extra firm?

Latex definitely sleeps cooler but it's not magic. If you're already sweating at 250, check your bedding and room temp too. A wool topper helped me more than the mattress swap alone.

op, how firm is your current foam? If it's already sunk, latex might feel like a board by comparison. Maybe find a store to lie on one for 15 min.

Break-in was maybe 2-3 weeks for ours.Felt stiff at first, then softened up a bit. Not a huge change though.
