Can I ask a mattress company for the address of the factory that made my bed?

Bit of an odd question but here goes. I'm a heavier guy (~280lbs) and I finally found a bed that hasn't turned into a hammock after 8 months. The label says it was made by some company I've never heard of, in a town I can't find on Google. I want to know where it's actually built , partly out of curiosity, partly because I'd like to order another one direct if I ever need to. Is it reasonable to email the mattress brand and ask for the factory address? Or is that the kind of thing they'll just ignore? I'm not trying to do anything weird with it, I just want to know what I'm sleeping on.

You can ask. Whether they answer is another story. Most brands will tell you the country or state but the exact address is usually where it gets fuzzy.

why do you need the address though? Like are you planning a road trip to it or

Ha, no road trpi. Mostly want to confirm it's not some mystery warehouse, and it'd help me figure out if the "handmade in the US" thing on the tag is real or marketing.

i worked a few years in furniture retail. The short version: the brand that sold you the bed probably didn't make it. There are maybe a couple dozen big foam, and spring factories that private-label for everyone. Your exact model might come from a plant that also builds for three other "brands". If you email them, ask for the manufacturing facility, not "the factory address", and be specific — model number, batch code from the law tag. Also the law tag itself should have the manufacturer name and city. That's often enough to figure out whether "handmade in the US" means a real workshop or a line in a 400,000 sq ft plant

Following this. Also a big guy and it's a nightmare finding something that holds up. What bed did you end up with?

"I'd like to know what I'm sleeping on" meanwhile half this this forum sleeps on a mattress they bought off a guy in a parking lot. Anyway, just send the email. Worst case you get a canned reply from Brenda in customer service.

@TinfoilHarriet that law tag tip is good, didn't think of that. Mine just says the brand though, nothing useful.

TinfoilHarriet

It'll say the brand if the brand *is* the manufacturer. Different situation. If it just lists thee retailer or a holding company, that's when it gets fun.

op never came back to say which bed lol. snooze_reaper we may never know
