Does eating in bed attract bugs?

So I've been eating snacks in bed while watching TV, and my partner says I'm going to attract bugs. Is that actually a thing? I feel like crumbs are inevitable. Serious answers please, but feel free to roast me too.

Yes, crumbs attract ants and roaches. Not bed bugs though—they want blood. But seriously, a few crumbs won't summon a swarm. Just vacuum.

Your partner is right. I used to eat chips in bed and got ants. It was a whole thing. Now I have a strict no-crumbs policy.

Eating in bed is fine until you spill something sticky. Then you get ants, and maybe a sticky sheet. Not worth it.

I eat in bed all the time and never had bugs. Maybe I'm just lucky? Or my crumbs are too small. But I do change sheets wekly.

QuantumFridge

Weekly? That's more often than me. Maybe that's the key. I'll try to be more careful, but I'm not giving up my late-night crackers.

GrumpyOwl

Vacuuming is easier than changing sheets. Just saying.

If you're worried about bugs, get a mattress encasement. Crumbs can't get in, and it's easier to clean. But eating in bed is still a habit you might want to break.

SalsaVerde

also, don't forget about carpet beetles. They love crumbs too. Not as gross as roaches but still annoying.
