I carry most of my weight in my stomach, and I sleep mostly on my side. Every pillow I try is either too thin and my neck aches, or too thick and my head gets pushed up weird. I've tried folding towels, stacking two pillows, even a rolled-up hoodie. Nothing works for more than a night or two. Anyone else built like this figure out a pillow setup that actually lasts?

Same build, same problem. I ended up getting one of those adjustable shredded foam pillows and taking out like a third of the fill. It's messy but it's the only thing that worked.
Have you tried a contoured memory foam pillow? The curve supports your neck even if your shoulder sinks in. Fixed my iissue and I'm not exactly tiny.
Not the same body type but honestly the 'too thick' problem is real. Half the pillows marketed for side sleepers are basically cinder blocks. I'd second the shredded foam idea — You can dial it in.
Shredded foam keeps coming up. Does it go flat after a while or can you top it up? I'm tired of buying a new pillow every six months.
Mine's held up about a year so far. You can buy extra fill on its own for cheap. Not glamorous but it aorks. Also lol @ cinder blocks, accurate.
Random but have you looked at your mattress too? If the mattress is too soft your midsection sinks and that changes the angle of your neck. Pillow alone might be fighging a losing battle.
^^ this is a good point actually. I switched to a firmer mattress and suddenly my old pillow worked fine. annoying but true.
Counterpoint: a firmer mattress fixed it for you, but for some of us extra firm just creates pressure points on the hips and shoulders. There's no universal answer, it's trial and error. Sorry, OP.
Fair enough. I'll try the shredded foam and maybe look at a mattress topper before replacing the whole thing. Appreciate the input, even the mattress tangent.
