Mattresses

I roll out of bed from the same spot every morning

Every single morning I wake up and I'm basically teetering on the edge on the same side. It's like my body just migrates there overnight. I'm not exactly a featherweight either, so I'm wondering if my mattress is just giving up on my side of the bed. Anyone else deal with this? Is this a mattress thing or am I just a weird sleeper?

dude same. i wake up on the left edge like clockwork and i'm not small either. i just assumed i was restless

If you're heavy and the mattress is soft, you're probably compressing it overnight and rolling into the dip your body creates. That's called a body impression. How old is the thing

MarkFromWork

Could also be your bed frame. If the slats are sagging on one side you'll roll that way. Check underneath before you blame the mattress.

Yeah fair, frame matters. But if he's a bigger guy a soft mattrejss will crater fast regardless. OP what's your weight range and mattress type? That changes the answer a lot.

My guy just casually asks for a weight range like it's a pizza order

grumbles74

lol. honestly i never thought about the frame. mine's on a cheap box spring. probably half the problem

I'm 260-ish and had the exact same issue. Switched to a firm hybrid with a Dense foam base and the rolling stopped within a week. The soft pillowtop was the culprit. It felt great in the store for ten minutes, terrible for eight hours.

MarkFromWork

Pillowtop always feels amazing for the first mmonth. Then it becomes a hammock. Learned that the hard way.

have you considered just sleeping on the floor. problem solved, no rolling possible

sundriedlinen

Not helpful. But honestly OP, rotate the mattress 180 and see if you roll the other direction. That tells you if it's the mattress or you. Cheap diagnostic.

velvetcrush

That rotate trick is underrated. If you still end up on the same side of the room it's you, not the bed.

Wait are we talking rolling off the bed or rolling to the same spot on the mattress? Because I read this as you falling out of bed every morning and I was very concerned

grumbles74

haha i read it the same way at first. 'roll out of bed' is doing a lot of work here

BiscuitHazard

To clarify, I'm not falling out of bed. I mean the same side of the mattress. Sorry, should've been clearer. Appreciate all the replies, the rotate test and frame check are getting done this weekend.
